Overview

Barakah Tasks is a local-first task manager with optional cloud-backed collaboration. MCP integrations act for a signed-in person through an OAuth connection. They do not create a second account model or bypass permissions visible in the app.

Add this server URL to a compatible MCP host:

https://mcp.barakahtasks.com/mcp

The host discovers the OAuth server, opens the Barakah Tasks consent flow, and receives tokens for this MCP resource. Tool access is limited by the scopes the person approves and by the permissions, membership, entitlement, and safety checks applied to every call.

  1. Add the MCP endpoint in a compatible host.
  2. Sign in to Barakah Tasks when the host opens the OAuth flow.
  3. Review the requested scope groups and approve only what the host needs.
  4. Use the available MCP tools within those approved scopes.
  5. Review or revoke the connection in Barakah Tasks settings at any time.

A signed-in Free account can complete this flow and use the core tools. See authentication for what Premium adds.

Once the connection is approved, the host works in ordinary language. Useful first requests:

  • What is on my plate today around Dhuhr?
  • Add “Renew passport” for Monday after Dhuhr.
  • Move “Collect school forms” to tomorrow but keep its prayer time.
  • Show my open tasks in the Eid hosting List.
  • Read the Notes on the school forms task before updating it.

Tasks anchor to a prayer rather than a fixed clock time, so a task placed after Dhuhr moves with Dhuhr as prayer times change through the year.

Barakah Tasks is a scheduling tool. It does not claim religious authority and does not generate religious text.

Start with the product model, then review authentication and scopes.
